Little Bud Farm is a flower garden all tended by hand by Jon and Carolyn Hexter. Growing vegetables and cut flowers to share with our community has been in the Hexter family since the 1990s in Central Virginia, and they moved to Grinnell as a family in July 2019. We offer cut flower bouquets for all occasions - weddings, parties, or just for a special treat for your loved ones.

Our practices always involve trying to get back in touch with the closed loop cycles of the natural world. We never use any chemical fertilizers or pesticides. We collect compost from several area food providers and lots of neighbors and enjoy turning it regularly to make rich, nutrient-dense soil to grow the best possible produce and flowers we can. The “Little Bud” in our farm name signifies the new growth we experience as we participate in nature’s cycles.
